This retrofit bib allows you to convert an epee mask into a foil mask, or rescue a foil mask whose conductive bib is not longer up to tournament standards. This bib is made from silver-plated copper, which is the same material as standard lamés.

This bib is accepted for local, provincial and national tournaments in Canada. It is not accepted for FIE-sanctioned tournaments, and may not be accepted in some countries including Germany.

This bib is not compatible with Allstar Vario masks. Please see the Vario replacement bib instead.

Instructions for use

This bib is supplied with temporary adhesive strips. These are strong enough to last for approximately one tournament, but the retrofit bib must be sewn onto the mask bib for a permanent installation.

Step 1: Remove any other retrofit bib that may already be applied to the mask. The original conductive bib that was factory-installed does not have to be removed. Also remove any liner from inside the mask that may interfere with the installation of this bib.

Step 2: Peel the protective stickers from the adhesive strips located on the metallic part of the retrofit bib.

Step 3: Line up the middle of the retrofit bib with the middle of the chin of the mask, then press down the retrofit bib onto the mask's bib, working from the middle towards the edges. Take care to make as few creases as possible.

Step 4: Once the front of the retrofit bib is firmly adhered onto the mask, peel the remaining protective sticker on the inner lip of the bib, and press the retrofit bib firmly onto the mask's bib, working from the middle towards the edges. Take care to make as few creases as possible.
